  • 1 stalk lemongrass, split lengthwise (also found in the herb section of most markets)
  • 1 teaspoon Asian fish sauce
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/2 small red hot pepper or 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (if you don’t like spicy food omit the pepper)
